Lots of crushed hopes today. Last night we went to do our night shift, but when we showed up, after spending time and money getting someone to drive us all the way there, we weren't allowed to come in because we needed some special permit or signed paper or something we never heard of! Our tutor tried to fix the papers today, but was unable to get in touch with the right people, so we don't get to go tonight either, so there was my shot at getting to see some babies be born here...unless there by some miraculous way someone is born tomorrow between 9.30 and 12am.
The last week of the stay here we were supposed to travel out of Addis with Birikit and see some of the projects Womens Health Association of Ethiopia is working with, which I was really looking forward to because we haven't left Addis the whole time we've been here, and all we've pretty much seen is this hotel, the hospital, health centers, nice hotels and some restaurants. Before we came here I thought we were gonna go and see some more of the countryside during the weekends, but now we're out of weekends pretty much, and today it's been decided we are working with a project right outside of Addis. So there goes the traveling too..
What a crap day, tomorrow must surely be better?!!
