This weekend I finished off my last weekend shifts! I only have five more work days at my job here and I'm looking forward to starting full time language and culture studies!
While on my last work weekend, I was able to try out some stuff for the first time, or better said, I was forced to try out some medical stuff I haven't done before. Due to illness among my work colleges I was the only nurse on shift this weekend, and I had to take care of two seriously ill patients. So for all of you my futures team-members in Asia Pacific, I'm now good to go on giving you your future vaccines and antibiotics, including setting you up with a butterfly needle for ongoing medication. But, as I've previously concluded, I much prefer patients who are not ill, which is probably not a good thing for a nurse, especially not one who might end up living in a third-world jungle location. I'll be sure to bring plenty of vitamins and soap for my fellow villagers to upper my odds ;)
