They got married at last!

Yesterday I went to the reception part of the wedding of the daughter of our neighbor. I'm not sure exactly when they were actually married, cause they had some ceremonies the day before as well. But here's what happened during the reception:
It started at 10am, there were probably around 200-300 people there, all the neighbors plus family and friends. Since we were the white, and therefor quite important guests (or maybe because those where the only seats free? ;), we were put on the first row. This was quite nice for taking pictures, but I had to keep glancing backward to make sure I was doing what everyone else was, like when to eat, when to stand up and so on.

The bride and family entered first

Then the representatives of the bride and groom each had speech and the groom and his family came in

First the bride washed the grooms feet in water with flower pedals in it

Then they were covered under the same shawl and walked together up front

Then the bride and groom fed each other cake and a drink (both feeding each other with a spoon at the same time, and with a cup at the same time, easier in theory than in practice I think ;)

They they knelt in front of the bride and grooms parents and were prayed for

Lots of pictures and singing of traditional music

 Food

Shaking everyones hands on the way out and putting the gift (money in an envelope) in a box

These were just three of the maaany speakers that were being used, let me tell you, it was LOUD! And these ones were literally right in our gate. And sound checking started at 7 in the morning.. ;) Our house was actually shaking!
