Back to High School!

Today I went with my roommates to a nearby high school, to take part in a day of games and fun in honor of the recent Independence day :) It started at 07.30 with a slow walk around the neighborhood. We were worried for a moment that it was gonna be a morning run, but alas, we were spared!

Then we had some snacks in the teachers lounge. We got some sort of green pea soup with coconut milk in it, it was really sweet, which was weird cause it would usually be salty back home.

Then the games began! First there were a bunch of volleyball games, teachers against students and such. They brought us out some chairs to sit on, which was a bit embarrassing cause no-one else was sitting on chairs! (weird, white people with sensitive behinds they must have been thinking ;)

Then we had our pictures taken with some soon-to-become teachers. Notice how I'm the only one in the entire school with short sleeves...I'll have to work on that. My brain is still telling me that it is wrong to wear long sleeves when its 30 degrees out ;) At least I didn't put on shorts!

Then Julie was picked out to announce the door-prizes :) Everyone got a number at the beginning of the day, and they were picking out winners throughout the day.

Then there was a tug-of-war (tautrekking)! I was happy being in the audience. Though later in the day I went to play soccer with some girls at an international school, and let me tell you, running around in the midday sun chasing a ball is probably not a great idea for an unfit Norwegian. But it was lots of fun, so I plan to do it again anyways :) I've got no pictures of this event though, I was preoccupied with trying to breath..
