Bride for the day

So today me and some friends got talked into dressing up as local brides... Okey, we didn't need to get talked into it, we totally jumped at the opportunity ;) A school that trains people to do hair and makeup needed people to practice on, and all the more fun if they are foreigners I suspect :)

 The "before" picture! 10 am
We each had two people working on our hair and makeup. First we got some kinda weird face and scalp massage to "let our auras out", whatever that means. Then they washed out faces with ice-cubes, cold!
Then they spent about an hour laying the foundation, different layers of this and that, another ice cube treatment, another layer, and so on and so forth. Basically you end up looking pretty pale!

Then they spend a couple of hours doing the eye makeup and especially getting the eyebrows just right! I even had the teacher guy work on my eyebrows for probably 20 minutes, so I guess they were extra hard to get into position ;) As you can see they like it sparkly and bright!

Then you get help to get into your clothes, as wrapping a sarong is pretty much impossible on your own, especially because it is so tight you can hardly bend over! You can also only move your feet apart a tiny bit, so walking was a challenge!

From the side and back after finishing up the hair, clothing and jewelery!

In the end we took tons of pictures, and all the students there wanted pictures with everyone as well! 2.30 pm

We went outside for a photo shoot. Irmi getting a final touch on her outfit. I had some serious issues trying to go up those stairs again!

Some really brave guys joined us at the end! Luckily for them it took about 10 minutes to get ready, compared to our 4,5 hours!
